Internet bestiary: who are the trolls?

The troll is not only a fairytale character, and trolling is not only fishing. Modern dictionaries interpret trolling (from the English trolling) as “posting on the Internet (in forums, in discussions, in Usenet newsgroups, in wiki projects, etc.) provocative messages to cause flames, conflicts between participants, insults, war edits and so on, that is, the commission of actions that lead away the attention of participants or readers. Troll, respectively, – the person involved in this filthy thing. So who are these same trolls? Within this article, it makes sense to divide the trolls into only two categories: initiative trolls and salary trolls. Troll initiative In fact, this is a simple Internet hooligan, pursuing some kind of momentary goals. Fighting boredom, an attempt at self-realization, lowering someone’s post or article in order to attract attention to one’s person and so on. There can be a lot of motivations, but as a rule, the most common algorithm for their actions is “throwing shit on a fan”. This is the most innocuous and easily calculated type of trolls. Easily localizable. The following form is much more dangerous: Troll on wages. This is one of the tools of the ongoing information war. Didn’t know she was coming? Well, you know. The fighting is going on everywhere, and the Internet can be called the central front line. The main players are supra-state formations, states, various power elites and others, opposing each other, as well as the “partisan detachments” fighting against all of them. The goal of this war is to win over as many people as possible, since they already are or will become later consumers / electorate / flock / taxpayer and so on. That is the foundation of someone’s well-being. Everything is simple with the media – control is exercised through licensing tools, censorship, work with personnel and administrative resources. With the Internet, everything is much more complicated: it is impossible to put pressure on a hoster located outside the Russian Federation, you cannot quickly arrest a server located there, you cannot take a domain name outside the .ru, .su and .rf zones, you can not intimidate or arrest a man’s fake accusation , whose location is problematic to establish, it is impossible to disperse 500 people with a virtual rubber truncheon, who unauthorizedly gathered to discuss a topic of the day at some forum. And in the end, the ancient thesis “to win someone’s struggle, you must lead it” has not been canceled. Here, the relevant special services and structures set in motion their secret weapon – the troll. This troll is no longer just an initiative “handsome”, it is already a monster, setting certain goals and receiving a salary for it. He will no longer be personal, will not allow phrases like “hear the dude,” he will not poke his IMHO anywhere. He will be very carefully and consistently engage in others: to clog up and divert the discussion from the original meaning of the article or blog. The tools used by such an intellectual troll: The accusation of the author of an article or post in a lie. For example, you write about the crisis and discontent in the Republic of Belarus. The troll of the Belarusian KGB will write in the first person: “… I myself live in Minsk and I can say that everything described here is a lie …” Well, and so on. Require evidence of the obvious. Questioning the personal experience or qualifications of the author. For example: “… And this says the lawyer? Yes, even the first-year student of any collective farm law school knows that … ”And that’s all, the topic has gone away. Instead of communicating on the merits, the author will be forced to prove either his experience in a particular issue or his professional suitability. With the help of a bot or several bots, the organization of a parallel discussion, which leads readers away from the original thought, zabaltyvanie. (This, in theory, should be added to a separate page of the Internet bestiary. In this context, a bot is creating a fictional person with one or more accounts on a specific site in order to participate in the discussion of something under the guise of several people of the same person. The most effective tool for creating Internet extras. Wide use of dogmas. For example, you write an objective article about religion. The troll is likely to give something from the series “… Man is a divine being, constantly attacked by the devil and demons! Your mouth You are no longer talking, because the ROC (the Vatican, the Dalai Lama, etc.) can only blame the devil and his servants for duplicity !! ”Going to the person. But not as primitive as the troll of the initiative – everything is neater and more refined. For example: “… And why did you think that you can and have the right to speak competently on these topics …” Or: “… Did you study at what university? At RSU? I know him, it’s rubbish, not teaching, and sessions are bought for a bottle … ”Constant quibbles on the wording. The constant demand for evidence of every argument of an article or post. For example: “… And where did you get the idea that more than 1,000,000 people were dispossessed in 1937? Wikipedia? He’s lying, I know for sure.
